Russ Stevenson

Spanning two decades, Russell Stevenson has been one of the most talented bike racers to emerge from the Northwest. Beginning in 1991 Russell began competition at the Seward Park series on a borrowed road bike. By the age of 21, with some encouragement from his peers Russ began to train and focus on racing full time. With the help of his long time friend and coach Steve Higgins, by the age of 23, he was racing the Pro NRC circuit which eventually led to his first of three Professional contracts. 20 years have past and Russell is still one of the best in any of three sports; Road, Mountain and Cyclocross racing. Russell has stood upon three Elite National podiums in three different disciplines. Russell owns and operates Cycling Northwest while working to keep the balance with everything life throws his way. Aside from racing and learning new jump lines at Duthie Park, his latest adventure is helping grow the WA High School MTB league as a head coach.
Russell is a NASM Certified Personal Trainer, USAC Certified Coach and Professional Bicycle Fitter with numerous industry qualifications. He is a student of the sport of cycling while continuing to expand his knowledge in Sports Science/Exercise and Kinesiology.
